The cabin is smaller than we expected but it is nice & clean. Our boys have enjoyed the loft & the fishing off the dock. We have caught a few fish. It's amazing to watch the barges going up & down the river. It's been nice to re-connect with nature and each other! We hope to come again in the future and maybe stay next door at the "Merrymaker". Sure beats staying at motel!!

My husband is capt. on a barge here on the Ohio River. We rode our Harley Davidson here and had a wonderful time. We will recommend to others!

We loved it the first time we were here and even more this time. Don't want to leave!

My husband's family all met for first time in a long time that they were all together.(about 10 years) They fished and had a good time. Enjoyed their jet skis and their boat! One brother came from Tennessee and another from Northern Indiana. The Cottage was real clean & well kept. We will come back again and bring some friends.

Our 1st anniversary at the "Cottage". All that you could want is here at the Cottage.
We all need to relax! That is exactly what we did.

This is our 2nd time here and we brought some friends along this time. Love the Cottage! We went to Blue Spring Caverns and did the tour. We also did the dinner tour on the Star Ship in Louisville, KY. We visited the Huber Winery and did some taste testing. We went back to Louisville to see the Louisville Slugger factory. The kids had a blast. Found a homemade ice cream and pie shop. Last year we had a bet to see who could guess the number of barges that would pass-The winning number was 28. This year, all seven of us guessed and we saw 33 barges. Last year we caught about 8 fish and lost a pole. This year, we caught 17 fish, speared(Bow & Arrow) 1 fish and again lost a pole to the Ohio River. The fishing was much better this year. The combination of good friends and good weather and great food made this a memorable vacation. Hope to make this a regular getaway!

We came here by accident another B & B made a reservation error. We see it as a gentle correction in our course, leading us to a far more restful & scenic location.
As we arrive late Thursday evening, my teenage daughter squeeled with delight at all the unique characteristics of our quarters.
Friday morning we awoke to thick fog settled on the Ohio River. Pancakes and hot coffee eased our wait of the scenic views...it was well worth the wait. As we sat on the deck 60+ degrees on October 31st, we both felt so peaceful.
Here are a few of the experiences we shared here.
Fog lifting off the Ohio River as the sun burns through.
Birds singing as the sky welcomed the sun to brilliant oranges, pinks,reds.
Fish jumping in the still waters. Falling stars streaking across the heavens.
Leaves gently spiraling from a tree.
Magnificent barges periodically passing by.
Water laping against the shoreline.
At dusk, cows, coyotes and hounds calling across the waters.
Coals brilliantly glowing at the fire pit.

Six friends were here. We soaked up the sunshine, the beauty and the peacefulness it brought our souls. We talked, laughed, played games and renewed the best of ourselves. While we did'nt solve the world's problems, we did leave the cabin more "picture-esque." Discover for yourself! LOOK UP IN THE TREE!!!!

We five cousins/siblings & spouses have surely enjoyed this leisure & respite together. Beautiful weather let us be outside some. At one point we saw two barges we'd seen at the Cannelton Locks "coming" & two barges going! Add to that the moon on the calm 'Ole Man River' plus the katydids crooning to us and fellowship among ourselves. Really a special meeting place here for us. We are from Kansas, Indiana, Oklahoma. This was a special time!!!

Another lovely time at Ohio River Cabins. Our first visit to "On the Rocks". We've enjoyed the Cottage and Utopia before, but this time we brought more family members.

Watching the Ohio River is just instant relaxation. Loved exploring this cabin with it's unique handmade fixtures. It feels much older than it is. The kids loved having many spaces indoors and out to inhibit.

Thanks to the crew, we love coming here and recommend it often to our friends!
